OEKO-TEX Standard 100 has classes based on skin contact. Class I is the most demanding, reserved for items for babies and toddlers, with the tightest limits on harmful substances.
What it screens for
The test battery covers formamide, regulated heavy metals, phthalates, certain dyes and other substances of concern — verified by an independent institute, not self-declared.
Why it matters on a play mat
A baby spends hours in direct contact with the floor. Class I certification, alongside a USP Class VI result and a formamide non-detect test, is strong evidence a mat is genuinely safe. PopsyKosy publishes all three.
