EVA Surface Film Lab Reports: RoHS (EKR24C01387) and REACH SVHC (SFW26200300)
Short answer: Two SGS Taiwan reports cover the EVA film that forms the top surface of our mats. Report EKR24C01387 (25 December 2024) tested the clear EVA film for the six restricted substances in the EU RoHS directive, and all six were not detected. Report SFW26200300 (13 February 2026) screened the natural EVA film for the 253 substances on the EU REACH Candidate List published by ECHA on or before 4 February 2026, and records the tested substances at or below 0.1% (w/w), marked Pass. Both PDFs are public: EKR24C01387 and SFW26200300.
Why test the film separately
The film is the layer a child touches and the layer that carries the printed design. Testing it on its own shows what the surface material brings to the finished mat. The finished mat, film and foam together, is covered by the broader panel in report HTY25500013.
Report EKR24C01387: RoHS on the clear EVA film
| Laboratory | SGS Taiwan Ltd. |
| Date | 25 December 2024 |
| Sample | Clear film (EVA film, style/item FT1029) |
| Scope | RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU Annex II as amended by (EU) 2015/863 |
| Substance | Result | Reporting limit | RoHS limit | Method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cadmium (Cd) | Not Detected | 2 mg/kg | 100 mg/kg | IEC 62321-5:2013, ICP-OES |
| Lead (Pb) | Not Detected | 2 mg/kg | 1000 mg/kg | IEC 62321-5:2013, ICP-OES |
| Mercury (Hg) | Not Detected | 2 mg/kg | 1000 mg/kg | IEC 62321-4:2013+AMD1:2017, ICP-OES |
| Hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) | Not Detected | 8 mg/kg | 1000 mg/kg | IEC 62321-7-2:2017, UV-VIS |
| Sum of PBBs (polybrominated biphenyls, 10 congeners) | Not Detected | 5 per congener mg/kg | 1000 mg/kg | IEC 62321-6:2015, GC/MS |
| Sum of PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers, 10 congeners) | Not Detected | 5 per congener mg/kg | 1000 mg/kg | IEC 62321-6:2015, GC/MS |
RoHS was written for electrical and electronic equipment, not for toys. We publish it because it is a recognised panel for heavy metals and brominated flame retardants, and because the film was tested against it. It is not a claim that the mat is an electronic product or that RoHS applies to it.
Report SFW26200300: REACH SVHC screening on the natural EVA film
| Laboratory | SGS Taiwan Ltd. |
| Issue date | 13 February 2026 (testing 9–13 February 2026) |
| Sample | EVA film, natural colour, style FT1029 and FT1029X series |
| Scope | 253 substances on the ECHA Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern, as published on or before 4 February 2026 |
| Summary in report | Concentrations of the tested SVHC at or below 0.1% (w/w) in the submitted sample: Pass |
Under REACH, 0.1% by weight is the concentration at which suppliers of an article must start communicating information about a Candidate List substance. The report's 14 pages list the substances and methods. The Candidate List grows over time, so a screen is tied to the list date printed in the report.
How the film fits into the whole mat
Each tile has three parts: the EVA foam core, a polyethylene-based adhesive, and the printed EVA film on top. Different reports cover different parts, and we keep them separate on purpose so you can see which record supports which statement:
- Film only: the two reports on this page.
- Foam only: report SHAHL26014107701 on the coloured foam (24 PAHs and 23 VOCs and glycols).
- Film and foam together, as sold: report HTY25500013.
- How well the film stays bonded to the foam: peel-strength report SHMR260300656601.
A brand that publishes one test on one layer and describes the whole product with it is asking you to fill in the gaps. Reading the sample description on page 1 of any report tells you which layer was tested.
What these reports do not tell you
- They describe the film samples submitted, not every batch or colour.
- "Not detected" and "at or below 0.1%" are relative to the limits and methods in each report.
- They are material tests, not certifications of the finished product.
How to check this yourself
- Open the PDF linked above. The report number, date and laboratory are printed on page 1.
- Compare the sample description in the report with the product you are looking at. Results apply to the tested sample.
- For every "not detected" line, read the reporting limit next to it. "Not detected" means below that limit, not zero.
- If you want a batch-specific match, write to hello@popsykosy.com with the design, thickness and order number.

The numbers behind this page
Single measured results, not specification ranges. Each one names the method, the laboratory, the report number and the date.
A tested sample measured pH 6.6 (ISO 3071).

Analytes not detected, each against its own stated detection limit. A not-detected result without a detection limit is not a result.

A cushioned floor surface is not a certified safety device. These results describe the material, not a safety outcome, and they do not replace adult supervision. Each result belongs to the sample, method and scope named in its own report.
