Every claim we make is on paper.
Most play mats ask you to trust a word. We would rather show you the file. Fourteen third-party reports, every number printed — and an equally honest account of what we do not claim.
The figure most brands
will not publish.
EN 1177 is the impact-attenuation method used for playground surfacing. We put our mats through it at SGS. This is exactly what came back — and exactly what it does not mean.
A PopsyKosy mat is a cushioned floor surface, not a certified safety device. A measured critical fall height describes how the surface behaved in a laboratory test. It is not a promise that your child will not be hurt, it does not make this a measured-cushioning product, and it never replaces supervision. We publish the number because it is real. We publish this paragraph because it is also real.
One material,
all the way through.
A 100% virgin EVA foam core, with a 100% EVA printed film surface. Both layers are EVA. No PE, no PEVA, no XPE, no IXPE, no recycled filler. The film carries the pattern and the wipe-clean finish — and it is EVA too. Film and core are bonded by thermal fusion rather than chemical adhesive, so there is no glue line in the construction. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I — the tier intended for articles in contact with babies — is certified on the complete finished mat, film included.
EVA Printed Film
The surface your child touches first. Pure EVA, with the ink sealed beneath a transparent topcoat rather than printed on top.
Textured Surface
A grounded floor feel for supervised tummy time, crawling and ordinary family use.
EVA Foam Core
Closed-cell virgin EVA. The 1″ Boulder uses a triple-density build; the 0.5″ Signature a single-density core.
Thermal Fusion
Film and core bonded under heat and pressure. No adhesive layer in the construction.
Interlocking Tiles
24-inch tiles, 0.5″ and 1″. Fewer, larger tiles across the same floor — but tiles, and we say so.
Fourteen documents.
Nine laboratories.
Every number printed.
Each line below corresponds to a real report held by Evercrest Living LLC, issued 29 June 2026 unless stated. Full PDFs are available to customers, retail partners and press on request.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
Product Class I — the strictest tier, for articles in contact with babies. Certified on the complete finished mat, not just the raw foam.
Cert. BJ028 281793 · valid to 30 Jun 2027USP Class VI
Materials biocompatibility test protocol applied to the EVA foam. A materials result — not a medical clearance, and we never present it as one.
Report USPS8-2026-0615EN 1177 — Impact Attenuation
Measured critical fall height under the EN 1177 impact-attenuation method: 1.5 m. Real measurement, real limits — see Chapter I.
Report HTY22400013CPSIA + CPC
US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, with a Children's Product Certificate issued on the product. Lead and the eight regulated phthalates: not detected.
Report HTY22400013ASTM F963
US toy safety — mechanical, flammability and chemical requirements for children's products.
Report HTY25500013EN 71-1 / 2 / 3 / 9
European toy safety: mechanical properties, flammability, migration of certain elements, and organic chemical compounds.
Report HTY22400055A01California Prop 65
Screened against the Proposition 65 list — 900+ listed chemicals. Broader than CPSIA; passing one is not passing the other.
Report HTY22400013Formaldehyde · BPA · Phthalates
Independent laboratory screening for the substances parents ask about most often.
Report HTY25500013Formamide
Not detected in the tested EVA foam sample at a 2 ppm reporting threshold, against a 200 ppm requirement. Sample-specific — we do not extend it further.
Report HY/2026/50068 · 28 May 2026EVA Film — SVHC
253 ECHA Candidate List SVHC substances screened; all at or below 0.1% w/w in the tested sample. A sample test, not a whole-product certification.
Report SFW26200300 · 13 Feb 2026Fire Retardancy
Self-extinguishing performance verified under laboratory test conditions — through the foam chemistry, without post-treatment sprays.
Report HTY25500013RIPT — Skin Irritation
Repeat Insult Patch Test. A dermatological result — not a promise that no individual will ever react.
Report SHAHL26014107701Surface pH 6.5 – 7.0
A measured value close to neutral. We report the measurement; we make no health or skin-benefit claim from it.
Report TX60141/2026/TYASTM D5511 · GREENGUARD Gold
Biodegradation verified under the D5511 method, reported strictly within that method's scope. GREENGUARD Gold covers chemical-emissions criteria for sensitive indoor environments.
MUM/001318/2024 · PKS-001420The substances parents
ask us about.
Results shown as reported in the documents listed above. Each result belongs to the sample and method that produced it — we do not stretch a report beyond what it covers.
Questions worth asking
any brand — including us.
We will not tell you what is inside someone else's mat. We do not have their reports, and neither does anyone who claims otherwise. What we can give you is the list of questions that separate a documented product from a marketed one.
What we
don't claim.
Any brand can list certificates. Fewer will tell you where the certificates stop. This chapter exists so you never have to wonder.
Don't take our word.
Take the certificate number.
Our OEKO-TEX certificate is publicly verifiable. Enter the number below into the OEKO-TEX validity check — anyone can, at any time, without asking us. That is the point.
