The PopsyKosy Difference
Design story
The Persian Garden pattern
Persian Garden is our most textile-referential pattern — the motif draws explicitly from 19th-century Persian carpet design traditions (specifically Tabriz and Heriz floral medallion geometry), simplified to a flat play-mat form. The pattern was developed for households where the play mat needed to coexist with vintage or antique rug collections, where the typical playmat aesthetic would visually clash with surrounding textile design.
The two Persian Garden colorways (Light Apricot and Pearl Beige) were tuned by an interior designer specializing in mixed-period rooms. Light Apricot brings a warm peachy tone that harmonizes with terracotta and brass; Pearl Beige is a near-neutral that disappears into mixed-rug interiors gracefully. The pattern density is intermediate — enough visual interest to read as design, sparse enough to not compete with a layered-rug or antique-textile environment.
Who this is for
Best fit: Households with vintage-traditional or layered-rug interiors where the play mat needs to coexist with antique textiles or collected Persian / Turkish / Moroccan rugs. The Tabriz floral medallion motif draws explicitly from 19th-century Persian carpet design traditions, so the play mat visually harmonizes with mixed-period interiors that other playmat patterns would clash with.
Less ideal fit: Households with strict modern or minimalist interiors where ornate pattern would read as visually noisy (consider Boulder or Totem instead). Also less suitable for households that want a contemporary-styled mat — Persian Garden is the most overtly traditional pattern in the PopsyKosy lineup.
