Non-Porous TPU Surface
PopsyKosy's play surface is a smooth, non-porous thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) top layer. Because liquids sit on top instead of soaking in, spills wipe away with mild soap and water and nothing seeps into the mat. PopsyKosy makes no germ-killing, hygiene, or sanitizing claims — the benefit is a sealed, easy-to-clean surface, not sanitization.

Why this term matters at PopsyKosy
This safety-adjacent terminology is part of the foundation we built PopsyKosy on. Every PopsyKosy mat is engineered to USP Class VI biocompatibility (the testing tier used for medical-device components polymer chemistry) plus OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I certification (the strictest textile-chemistry tier, originally written for infant skin contact). These two standards combined define the safety bar most playmat brands do not meet.
The mat is designed in Los Angeles , precision-manufactured in Taichung, Taiwan — not in China, not in mixed-ownership facilities. Each pattern is single-density-molded tile EVA (no tile seams to peel, no foam delamination, no adhesive layers to off-gas). The 0.5″ and 1″ thickness options are both independently EN 1177 impact-tested for fall protection (1″ to a 1.0 m critical fall height, 0.5″ to 0.6 m). Independent COA documents are published in full on our Certifications page .
