PopsyKosy Quality Control: How We Catch Defects

Every PopsyKosy mat passes through multiple QC checkpoints before shipping. Here is the inspection regime.

Raw Material QC

Each batch of EVA pellets and TPU film is tested for density, color, contamination, and chemical compliance. Out-of-spec batches are rejected at the supplier — they never enter our production line.

In-Process Inspection

During lamination, samples are pulled every 50 mats for: lamination strength (peel-test), cell-structure uniformity (cross-section microscopy), bevel geometry. A batch failing in-process inspection is paused and re-tuned before resumption.

Visual Final Inspection

Every individual mat is visually inspected under daylight-balanced lighting for: pattern alignment, surface defects (scratches, contamination, bubbles), edge integrity, and color consistency against master swatch. Reject rate ~2-4% — visible defects don't ship.

Random Lab Sampling

Quarterly, random production samples are sent to SGS Taiwan for full chemical re-testing — formaldehyde, heavy metals, phthalates, BPA, PFAS, AP/APEO. This catches any silent drift from supplier-level changes.

Field-Return Analysis

Every customer-returned mat (warranty or otherwise) is inspected in our QC team. Failure modes are tracked, and any recurring pattern triggers an in-process review. We treat warranty returns as the most valuable QC data.

Continuous Improvement

Each quarter, the QC team reviews defect-pattern data and proposes process changes. Recent changes: tighter beveling pressure (Q2 2024), revised lamination temperature curve (Q3 2024), expanded color-match tolerance bands (Q4 2024).

What if my mat arrives with a defect anyway?

Email hello@popsykosy.com with photos. Replacement ships within 1 business day at no charge. We don't argue about defects.
