PopsyKosy GREENGUARD Certification Roadmap

PopsyKosy is OEKO-TEX® Class I certified (the strictest tier — safe for textiles in direct skin contact with babies under 36 months). We are also pursuing GREENGUARD Gold and FloorScore — independent indoor-air-quality certifications widely recognized by U.S. pediatric and architecture communities. Here is our transparent timeline and what each certification means.

Why We Are Pursuing GREENGUARD Gold

GREENGUARD Gold is a U.S.-based certification administered by UL Solutions that limits emissions of more than 360 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) plus formaldehyde, with the strictest limits in the world for children's products and indoor environments. Many U.S. pediatricians, architects, and schools reference GREENGUARD as a baseline for nursery and classroom flooring.

Our existing OEKO-TEX® Class I covers textile chemical safety; GREENGUARD covers airborne emissions. Combining both means PopsyKosy will be one of the only EVA play mats in North America with both skin-contact and indoor-air-quality certifications from independent third parties.

What FloorScore Adds

FloorScore (SCS Global Services) is the most widely recognized indoor-air-quality certification for hard surface flooring. It uses the same testing protocol as California Section 01350 — the standard referenced by LEED v4.1 and the WELL Building Standard. FloorScore certification means architects and interior designers can spec PopsyKosy in LEED-certified projects, daycare facilities, and pediatric clinics.

Our Independent Lab Data Today

Our most recent third-party lab reports (SGS Taiwan, 2025) show: formaldehyde <0.012 mg/L (limit 0.075), heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Hg, As) all below detection limits, phthalates (DEHP/DBP/BBP/DINP/DIDP/DNOP) all N.D., BPA N.D., PFAS N.D., and AP/APEO N.D. These published lab values already meet or exceed the published GREENGUARD Gold and FloorScore emission limits — formal certification is a paperwork-and-time matter, not a material-reformulation matter.

Is PopsyKosy currently GREENGUARD certified?

Not yet — we are formally pursuing GREENGUARD Gold with expected award in Q1 2027. Our published independent lab data already meets the emission limits.

Why does the timeline take a year?

Chamber emission testing requires a 28-day continuous protocol under controlled humidity and temperature, plus paperwork review by UL Solutions. Most certifications take 6-12 months from sample submission to award.

What does OEKO-TEX Class I actually cover?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I is the strictest tier, reserved for products in direct, prolonged skin contact with infants under 36 months. It tests for more than 1,000 individual chemicals including azo dyes, heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates, organotin compounds, and chlorinated organic carriers.

Does Made-in-Taiwan affect the certification path?

No — UL Solutions and SCS Global Services certify products globally; the manufacturing location is one data point but does not gate eligibility. Our Taichung facility has hosted SGS audits since 2022.
