USP Class VI
USP (United States Pharmacopeia) classifies plastics from Class I (least stringent) to Class VI (most stringent). Class VI requires the plastic to pass three in-vivo tests in animal models: systemic toxicity (no lethal effect via injection), intracutaneous reactivity (no skin irritation), and implantation (no inflammatory tissue response after 5 days of subcutaneous implantation).
Class VI is the bar that surgical-grade silicone, IV-bag PVC alternatives, and dental-implant components must clear. When PopsyKosy specifies medical-grade EVA at USP Class VI, this is the benchmark we mean — not a marketing slogan.
