Why this term matters at PopsyKosy
This safety-adjacent terminology is part of the foundation we built PopsyKosy on. Every PopsyKosy mat is engineered to USP Class VI biocompatibility (the testing tier used for medical-device components polymer chemistry) plus OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I certification (the strictest textile-chemistry tier, originally written for infant skin contact). These two standards combined define the safety bar most playmat brands do not meet.
The mat is designed in Los Angeles , precision-manufactured in Taichung, Taiwan — not in China, not in mixed-ownership facilities. Each pattern is single-density-molded tile EVA (no tile seams to peel, no foam delamination, no adhesive layers to off-gas). The 0.5″ and 1″ thickness options both meet ASTM F1292 fall-protection thresholds. Independent COA documents are published in full on our Certifications page .
The PopsyKosy Founder Story covers why Grace Lin set out in 2021 to engineer a play mat with no safety compromises. The full 50-term safety glossary covers every adjacent concept in detail.
